Community invited to discuss playground equipment replacement options.
Please join the Austin Parks and Recreation Department and Austin Parks Foundation for a community meeting to discuss options for the new playground equipment for the Pan American Neighborhood Park playground. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Oswaldo A.B. Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center located at 2100 East 3rd Street. It will be a come-and-go open house format.

This project will include a complete playground replacement and will include ADA improvements in the parking lot. The new playground will also be better integrated into the park with connections to the neighborhood, school, and recreation center.
The playground rehabilitation project was made possible with funding from Austin City Limits Music Festival and Austin Parks Foundation.
The Pan American Neighborhood Park offers amenities including a multipurpose sports field, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, playscape area, and hillside stage. The adjoining Oswaldo A.B. Cantu/Pan Am Recreation Center hosts a variety of year-round recreation and leisure programs for youth, teens, adults and seniors. Such activities include youth and adult sports, youth boxing, Totally Cool Totally Art teen program, after school programs, day camps, spring break and summer camps, and community special events like the Hillside Summer Concert Series, Annual Halloween Carnival, Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and Cookies with Santa. The Rec Center also offers a variety of contract classes such as our Adult Capoeira Class, Ballet Folklorico, Tae-Kwon-Do, and more.
